Operations Manager of Subcontracts

Zachry Group is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Operations Manager of Subcontracts to serve as a company representative, responsible for overall management of the execution of subcontracts over multiple projects reporting to the Director of Subcontracts. Additionally, acting as the corporate liaison to the project teams and operational leadership, while ensuring compliance with company and contractual obligations for a portfolio of projects. The Operations Manager of Subcontracts is responsible for staffing and developing project teams, creation of subcontract processes and procedures, and supporting project teams with execution of their project. Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage a portfolio of projects overseeing the staffing, execution of subcontracts to ensure the work meets the contract and corporate processes and procedures
Manage the project team personnel with supervision, instruction / training, work product auditing, and problem resolution
Assist in the sourcing efforts, working with the sourcing team, and make recommendations for award of the project subcontracts to the project teams along with the recommended support for the subcontract execution
Ensure proper reporting, documentation and related files are timely and correct to mitigate project risk
Assist in the development and negotiation change orders for alignment with the commercial terms of the subcontract agreements.
Coordinate with other departments on the development and execution of corporate strategies for subcontracting efforts
Establish and define the project’s subcontract organization, the project staffing requirements, and coordinate staffing with the project management team
Provide strong, effective and decisive leadership and establish an execution framework to provide the safe, quality, value, timeliness, and budget of the subcontractors’ field execution
Conduct regular project visits and advise project team of the compliance of the work, quality of work and safety conditions requiring attention
Establish and maintain effective client relations to achieve active cooperation, team alignment, and stimulate the desire to award follow-on work
Coordinate with engineers, inspectors and client/owner representatives to help resolve project problems and assist in developing solutions
Perform others duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in a related discipline is preferred; equivalent experience in lieu of education may be accepted
Minimum 15+ years of experience in EPC or EPCM projects in an industrial environment, petrochemical, process, power or LNG
Detailed knowledge of craft skills
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work well with others
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Detail oriented and willingness to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast paced environment
Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary
Ability to pass a post offer background check including a Motor Vehicle Report investigation and drug screen
Requires travel to regional offices and the project site locations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Understanding of project controls, scheduling, progress measurement, risk assessment, change management, cost control and estimating process and planning
Working experience or applied knowledge of: Electronic Document File Management and Web Based Document Management Software (Such as Documentum or SharePoint), Primavera or industry scheduling software
20+ years of experience in an industrial EPC or EPCM environment
Experience providing an environment for the development and professional advancement of project personnel, including providing on-the-job and formal training and development opportunities
Preferred 10 years prior management experience.
