[Structural Welder] Structural Fluxcore Welders Needed for 1 Year Project in FL $29/hour

We are currently looking for the BEST OF THE BEST structural fluxcore welders for a 1 year aerospace project at Cape Canaveral, FL. This project pays $29 per hour and is working 60+ hours per week. The test is extremely challenging so please only apply if you are extremely confident in your abilities to pass the test. You must pass all phases of the test, each phase is inspected by a CWI. All welds are ultrasonic tested which picks up all imperfections.

The Structural test will be: 2G (horizontal), 3G (vertical) , 4G (overhead) with 1 plate backing strip using Flux core.


Complete welding assignments and procedures for construction and repair of all site structural stands on time, safely, and in a professional manner
Cut, trim, or modify metal parts, fit and fabricate metal components to dimensions for building and assembling test site structural forms
Collaborate with welding lead coordinator to ensure that the proper weld procedure, type of material and rod size are accurately assessed for each welding project
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations where procedural information is unavailable
Utilize hand welding and flame-cutting equipment to weld together and cut metal components and parts to assemble structural members
Maintain a 6010 root, and 7018 uphill fill and caps on carbon pipe (when unsure of bead size refer to lead coordinator)
Ensure all welds are complete by cleaning and inspecting the weld for proper tie-ins and defects as well as cleaning off all spatter and slag
Utilize zinc coat spray on welds when working with existing structures
Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits or certifications as required
Make a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly
Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment


Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
Ability to work multiple shifts and change shifts with minimal notice
Ability to stand for extended periods 8 hours minimum
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 30 lbs.) unassisted
Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings and climbing hand over hand
Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments heat, cold, rain
Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
Preferred Skills

Forklift certified
Experience working in clean rooms
General mechanical skills in concrete, machining, and alignment/setting
Certification in SMAW, GMAW or GTAW
Knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements
Knowledge in standard tools, materials, motions, and practices of the welding trade
Knowledge in ferrous and non-ferrous metals in relating to welding and brazing
Knowledge in occupational hazards and effective safety precautions of the trade
Knowledge in arc air procedures and equipment
Use of precision measuring instruments
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
7+ years of professional experience working in construction or fabrication
2+ years of professional experience welding at an industrial construction site
2+ years of professional experience working with high pressure fluid systems
Professional experience with SMAW, MIG and oxy/acetylene cutting
AWS certified welder
