Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Highway Inspector to travel and perform asset condition inspections and quality control inspections primarily in the Texas area. Start date for this position will be in January 2020. This position requires travel 80% of the work week. 90% of travel is within Texas and 10% of the time in Denver, CO. Inspector must possess expert understanding of specifications for roadway, bridge, drainage structure, and other road structures. Inspector must possess expert understanding of specifications and procedures required to maintain and repair highway infrastructure. Candidate will adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
- Log, photograph, and fully record location, description, measurements, and status of all inspected assets as applicable. Review submitted records for accuracy.
- Perform quality control checks during inspections, provide documentation, and perform general maintenance activity as needed.

Minimum 2 years of related experience
Must be able to travel 80% of the time, (Austin, TX, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, and Denver, CO)
Must work Night shift and weekends when necessary
Roadway maintenance experience
Concrete forming/repair experience
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
Roadway maintenance supervisor or crew leader experience
MOT Certifications (traffic control)
CDL License a plus
Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator
Some college education or experience in related field
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Intermediate proficiency with smart phone, computer, and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to perform with minimal supervision
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required
Ability to operate hand/power tools
Full time; Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Must be able to work days, nights, and weekends when necessary.
Will be required to attend two week bridge inspection training course and pass exam within 90 days of hiring.
