Survey Office Technician

Position Summary:

The Survey Office Technician is responsible for managing data on multiple projects, such as machine control models, layout data, as-built data, and point clouds as well as being able to provide support to field surveyors and project management for quantities and CAD drawings on projects.

Responsibilities:

• Create 3D models for layout/machine control
• Create various drawings for projects (Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble Business Center)
• Assist projects with tracking quantities using survey data/models (Trimble Business Center)
• Perform QC checks on survey plans and data
• Calculate layout for multiple projects
• Coordinate all electronic data for design/build projects
• Create files for machine control
• Create as-built plans/designs and work orders for field crews
• Provide miscellaneous plans to projects
• Trimble Business Center experience
• Process laser scanning data/registration
• Generate surfaces from scan data
• Track survey equipment inventory
• Proficient in use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc..)
• Operate all types of survey equipment
• Review models with STM/RSM
• Assist STM/RSM with managing survey tasks
• Assist with BIM models/coordination

Qualifications:

• 10 years of construction related experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• Advanced CAD Skills; i.e. create points, alignments, profiles, drafting plans, grading models
• Construction survey experience required
• Must have working knowledge of Trimble Business Center
