Calibrate welding tools and equipment according to the parameters listed in the welding procedure specification (WPS)
Secure and fasten structural components using clamps, braces, jacks, and bolt straps
Carry out post-welding treatment of structures by cleaning, buffing, and polishing finished workpieces
Employ appropriate welding methods in completing structural fabrications such as GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
Read blueprints and work instructions to plan, and layout weld work, determine fixturing needs.
Ability to inspect welds, identify defects or issues, and make corrections.
Operate forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders, cutting torches and other handheld tools as needed.
Must be familiar with welding/cutting safety requirements.

May require working in extreme hot or cold weather conditions. Requires working standing on feet most of the workday and climbing ladders, stooping, bending, or squatting.
