The Senior Landman will be responsible for ensuring that he or she represents and secures the rights to utilize all properties required by our client. In this role, the Senior Landman must be a skilled and determined researcher, an able negotiator and proficient in state real estate, mining, and mineral laws. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, as the position requires that she or he interfaces with landowners, geologists, government officials, attorneys, and engineers.
Key Functions of the Role:
The Senior Landman prepares deeds, affidavits, notices, releases of leases and land and leasing reports and other duties as assigned.
Arranges probates, manage claim-staking projects, coordinate multi-rig drilling.
Prepares lease agreements, records rental receipts, and performs other activities necessary to efficiently manage company properties.
Prepares and facilitates the execution of specialized lease documents.
Participates as a team member of the development team for a geographic region.
Coordinates and distributes work assignments for contract personnel for lease acquisitions.
Manages land system database to ensure that opportunities, revenue, meeting notes, reports, contacts, and other pertinent information is accurate and current.
Manages agreement obligations including payments, reports, and filing.
Manages the land budget including payment forecasts monthly.
Other duties as required, including though not limited to:
Perform and complete comprehensive due diligence for potential property acquisitions.
Review certificates of location and claim maps for new claims.
Required Skills or Equipment
Working knowledge of tax maps, topo maps and property deeds
Working knowledge of deed plotter programs and chain of title programs
4 wheel drive.
Senior-level experience in a land administration and records management or equal time of on job training.
Associate degree in land management, paralegal studies, or related field and/or equivalent number of years of related land experience which demonstrates a knowledge of title curative, rights-of-way, mineral lease documents, farmouts, mineral severance, joint ventures, and courthouse research
RL, RPL, and/or CPL certifications, preferred.
