Thermite Foreman

A Talascend client based in IL has a need for 2 Thermite Foremen for their rail projects.

Thermite Foremen will be responsible for the safety, organization and providing quality thermite rail welding services to the customers of the company. Foreman will oversee the crew and adhere to railroadís MOW/safety rules and procedures, in conjunction with company safety program to ensure company goal are exceeded. This role will be first point of contact with customers in field operations. Foreman will be responsible for maintaining companyís tools and equipment including vehicles. Foreman will be responsible for planning daily work events to meet or exceed customersí expectations.

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS:

High School graduate or equivalent.
Must have Thermite Welding certification completed.
Must maintain a valid driverís license; preferred Class B Commercial Driverís License & Medical Certification.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems.
Prior lead or management experience
Good interpersonal skills.
Satisfactory completion of company training programs.
Travel up to 100% includes ground, rail & air travel
Physical requirements:
Standing, walking, bending, and work safely on rough uneven surfaces or terrain
Ability to lift & carry up to 50 pounds frequently, up to 70 pounds on rare basis.
Audio and Visual acuity.
Ability to climb a steep ladder frequently.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all duties associated with thermite welding.
Knows and understands specific railroads standards and measurement compliances for thermite weld.
Work in full compliance and procedures of the company safety program to ensure a safe working environment.
Complete all necessary paperwork associated with thermite welding
Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to complete state of readiness and minimize equipment downtime.
Train employees in quality procedures and safety programs.
Ability to safely operate thermite vehicle on roads and highways while meeting State and DOT requirements.
Knows and understands process of thermite welding.
Set up and break down thermite work locations.
Follow all railroad specific MOW and safety rules related to job
