Construction division is looking to hire contractors to support their workload for the 2021 season. If the contractor does a good job, they will be asked to come back for the 2022 season and/or hired on as a direct employee.
General contractor that self performs all horizontal workload. I.E.: site grading, prep, underground plumbing, trenching, footings, flatwork concrete, and landscaping. Their niche is building out large multifamily units whether that be apartment complexes or townhomes. They support work in the greater DSM metro, but also expand out to surrounding territories such as Pella, Pleasant Hill, and Marshalltown.
The projects they're currently looking at needing help for this summer are in Pella, Pleasant Hill, and Marshalltown, so candidates will need to drive themselves to and from these areas daily and must be locked down on getting to work on their own.
They're in need of people for their concrete team and landscaping team.
Concrete team pours and finishes driveways, 8x10 slabs up to 32 x48 slabs for patios etc on these multifamily units. They do sidewalks as well. They'll train 100%, just looking for eager, individuals who can show up and want to learn and work. Work ethic and reliability trumps skill for them. Concrete team will help lay sod when that time comes.
Landscaping team does site prep, planting of trees, and preparation for sod placement, laying out sod, planting flowers, etc. This role is a bit more physically intense than the concrete team role. Sod is very heavy, and often the job sites they're working on are 20 acres +. Team effort. Again, will train 100% and are looking for eager,individuals, but if someone has landscaping/horticulture/farming experience that is preferred for this team as they are probably aware of the physicality of it.

Able to get to and from work at various project locations daily
Able to lift 50 lbs and stand, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, turn and complete various physical tasks daily for 8 hours/day
Willingness to learn a trade and have a trainable mentality
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
They can 100% train candidates on whatever team they go to; and actually prefer to train people with little experience. Must be able to do physical work outdoors in the elements and be a team player and have a "can do" want to learn attitude.
