Project Engineer - Windfarm Collection and Turbine SME (332455)

BHI Energy is seeking for an experienced Windfarm Collection and Turbine Subject Matter Expert to lead technical and strategic innovative initiatives to reduce Capex for our clients Wind portfolio. This position is focused on strong technical experience to identify innovative solutions rather than project execution.

Role:
  • Identifies opportunities for new technologies and projects
  • Interprets and summarizes industry trends and technology forecasts to make recommendations having significant impact on extensive engineering and related activities for the company
  • Leads collaborations with suppliers on solution strategies
  • Evaluate products and/or services for accuracy and usability
  • Validate the requirements and deliverables that describe the product(s) or service(s)
  • Obtain or provide approval for changes to rules, processes, and policies
  • Lead the definition of processes and policies, supply business rules and procedures, and communicate the contexts in which the rules, processes and polices are applied
  • Provide input into and execute user documentation and training material
  • Provide input for the design and construction of test cases and scenarios and may also validate executed test results
  • Test the product(s) or service(s) towards the end of the project/program (user acceptance testing), using and evaluating it for accuracy and usability, providing feedback to the project team

  • 5+ Years of large-scale Wind (>100 MW) experience with design, equipment, top tier suppliers and installation of Wind arrays; not limited to turbine generators, transformers, collection cables, rubber molded goods, breakers, and VAR equipment
  • Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in guiding engineering design architecture at a component-level, project- level, and portfolio level
  • Has technical, commercial, and financial acumen
  • Basic office skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • A sense of ownership
  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering
  • Understands current Wind industry, market, equipment, and standards
Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, civil, or chemical engineering
  • Knowledge of energy storage integration with wind
