Contract Duration: 1 year+
Location: Juno Beach, FL
Pay Rate: $60.50
PD: Depends
NextEra Energy is seeking for an experienced Battery and Energy Storage subject matter expert to lead technical and strategic innovative initiatives to reduce Capex for our continuous growing Storage portfolio. This position is focused on strong technical experience to identify innovative solutions rather than project execution.

Required skills and experience:
Understands current utility-scale Storage industry, market, equipment, and standards

5+ Years of experience with design, equipment, top tier suppliers and installation of Storage arrays; not limited to battery chemistry, battery configurations, inverters, container solutions, and integration both AC and DC connected solutions

Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in guiding engineering design architecture at a component-level, project-level, and portfolio level

Has technical, commercial, and financial acumen

Basic office skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Excellent written and verbal communication

A sense of ownership

Bachelorís Degree in electrical or chemical engineering

Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of energy storage integration with other renewables such as solar and wind
Masterís Degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, civil, or chemical engineering

Identifies opportunities for new technologies and projects

Interprets and summarizes industry trends and technology forecasts to make recommendations having significant impact on extensive engineering and related activities for the company

Leads collaborations with suppliers on solution strategies

Evaluate products and/or services for accuracy and usability

Validate the requirements and deliverables that describe the product(s) or service(s)

Provide input into and execute user documentation and training material

Obtain or provide approval for changes to rules, processes, and policies

Lead the definition of processes and policies, supply business rules and procedures, and communicate the contexts in which the rules, processes and polices are applied

Provide input for the design and construction of test cases and scenarios and may also validate executed test results

Test the product(s) or service(s) towards the end of the project/program (user acceptance testing), using and evaluating it for accuracy and usability, providing feedback to the project team
