Construction Procurement Specialist

Title: Construction Procurement Specialist.

Remote, but must work on PST.

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for administering competitive bidding processes (RFPs), negotiating commercial terms (pricing and contractual), and evaluating and selecting suppliers in accordance with company policies.  This position will operate within the Procurement Team and its associated guidelines but interface regularly with the Project and Construction teams to ensure purchases are meeting all company requirements. 

Responsibilities
Formulates requests for proposal/quotations/information, bid analysis, tenders, and risk evaluations.
Administers and leads cross-functional teams through the competitive bidding process, directs supplier negotiations, evaluates and selects suppliers in accordance with company policies.
Strategically sources equipment and services using a variety of methods to ensure an uninterrupted supply.
Evaluates and selects suppliers based on their ability to provide the goods/services and at costs consistent budgetary expectations.
Participates in the negotiation of construction contracts to minimize operational, legal and financial risks. Collaborates with both internal and external legal counsel, as applicable.
Tracks material/service costs and supplier performance using approved metrics and tools.  Analyzes trends and makes corresponding sourcing decisions.
Engage in regular contact with suppliers.
Leads and/or participates in meetings with suppliers to rectify issues and to ensure suppliers are capable of meeting and are aware of the requirements and expectations.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study, (i.e. Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, etc.) or equivalent combination of experience and technical training.
Minimum one (1) years in a renewables/ utility / power plant / heavy construction project environment, with and understanding of types of equipment being purchased
Knowledge of purchasing processes with a clear commercial focus.
Experience working in a high-performance company with multiple systems and organizations related to compliance, safety, quality, and environmental management.
Strong written and oral communications skills.
Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external customers and suppliers
Self-starter with excellent planning, project management, work planning, and organizing skills.
Strong computer skills with ability to utilize the Microsoft Office suite of products.
