Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Technical Lead. The Technical Lead will lead and perform maintenance operations in the Sarasota, FL area. The project is a multi-year, performance-based, transportation asset management contract with Florida's Department of Transportation. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, etc. as well as adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Major functions:

  • Assist PM on the following activities:
    • manage QC program (QC Inspections, repairs, and reports)
    • develop, prepare, and update reports
    • update sweeping, vegetation, mowing plans, etc.
    • construction (meetings, update quantities, etc.).
    • NPDES, QC routine and proactive structure plan.
    • provide technical assistance to employees.
    • follow up contract requirements, etc.
  • Develop work programs and adhere to project timelines, outline resources required for successful implementations of initiatives, and monitor results to ensure goals are met
  • Conducts organizational reviews to identify strengths and weaknesses and to evaluate operational effectiveness
  • Field operations leadership
  • Implement and support division and project goals and adhere to company policy

Required Experience:
Minimum 2+ years prior operations, maintenance, or construction experience within transportation roadway, bridge, and facility assets
Minimum 1+ years managerial experience
Experience with managing workforces, vendors, subcontractors, equipment, and material resources

Preferred Experience:
Roadway maintenance experience
MOT Certifications

High School Diploma/GED
Strong communication skills with ability to get things done through others
Strong computer and analytical skills
Ability to resolve disputes amicably and with professionalism
Self-starter and highly motivated to succeed
Comfortable working in the field and getting along with construction and maintenance personnel
Shows strong commitment to the company culture and proves to be a champion of our initiatives
Analytical, writing, presentation and communication skills
Maintain company standards for background checks
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out complex arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Neat, clean and presentable appearance
Knowledge and ability to quickly adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use and support smart phones and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to relocate for the right opportunity

Full time; Monday - Friday, day shift, 7am - 3pm, with some night work if needed. Must be able to work in weather emergencies and be flexible to work other hours according to project and client requests.
