The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $30.04 - $35.09. This position is eligible to participate in PIC’s benefits effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Available benefits include: 2 different medical plans, Dental, Vision, FSA’s, HSA, Life Insurance, AD&D Insurance, disability and 401K.

We are seeking a Safety Specialist to join our Pueblo team. As a Safety Specialist you will be working to ensure compliance with both OSHA and the Client's Safety Program, helping to drive continuous improvement of safety culture, and providing safety support throughout the Plant.
Provides safety leadership and guidance for various projects and outlying departments
Develops and administers Plant industrial hygiene program
Develops and provides OSHA 10 and other applicable safety training as needed
Provides assistance to mill safety personnel including coverage as needed
Investigates accidents to identify causes and determine preventative measures
Fire extinguisher compliance and inspection oversite
Conducts periodic workplace hazard assessments and safety inspections
Identifies and corrects hazardous workplace conditions and at-risk situations
Reviews written safety programs for effectiveness and compliance
Coordinates and provides general guidance to safety committee activities
High school diploma or equivalent; 2 or 4 year college degree with emphasis in industrial hygiene preferred
Knowledgeable of OSHA regulations
Strong leadership skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Functional knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Health & Safety experience in a heavy industry; manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to professionally motivate and engage employees
Basic knowledge of radiation hazards; radiation safety officer certification preferred
