Electrical Engineer (335571)

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to fill a remote opportunity to support our client that is located in Buchanan, MI. This is a full time assignment that is estimated to be about 1 year. The Electrical Engineer will be working as part of a team of Engineers and Designers supporting modification packages including digital upgrades. In this role you will exercise sound judgement in assessing problem situations or complex issues. As an Electrical Engineer you will function as the electrical discipline lead and prepare electrical design, coordinate interdisciplinary team of engineers and vendors to complete tasks on schedule and within budget. Job Details/Essential Job Functions:

  • Complete complex engineering assignments including preparation of packages that include preparation of specifications and data sheets, calculations, and modifications to existing plant drawings.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions.
  • Review vendor drawings.
  • Interface with plant stakeholders to determine project scope/requirements.
  • Support construction, implementation and start up activities.
  • Review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data.
  • Coordinate the efforts of the group with other discipline groups on the same project.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science from a 4-year university with course work in Control Systems or Nuclear Technology
  • 4 years of experience relating to design of control systems for power plants or heavy industrial facilities
  • 2 years of experience relating to design or operation of commercial Nuclear Power Plants
  • Experience evaluating and specifying pressure, temperature, flow, and level process instrumentation.
  • Preparation of specifications, calculations, and drawings for plant control systems.
  • Good written and oral communication skills. Must have experience working in a Team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with the Nuclear standard Design Process, and experience preparing engineering drawings including but not limited to wiring diagrams and schematics, P&IDs, logic diagrams, instrument hookups, etc. for plant modification packages.
  • Field experience at an operating Nuclear plant
  • Experience with Digital Upgrades at operating Nuclear plant
