Job Summary:†

PIC Group has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to support a new state-of-the-art chlorine production facility located in Westlake, LA.† The Maintenance Manager will report to the Plant Manager for an industry leading chemical company who produces pool cleaning products in the commercial and residential marketplace. The Maintenance Manager is an important part of the management team interacting with and leading a seasoned maintenance department of highly skilled employees critical to ensuring equipment remains operational on a continuous basis.† †

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the facility has adequate resources to maintain equipment and ensure smooth operations.
Lead and launch sustainable processes for identifying maintenance related problem areas related to equipment to determine root cause (procedures, systems, technical problems, personnel performance), define appropriate actions, communicate, and implement recommended corrective actions.
Coordination of outage activities and appropriate scheduling to ensure timelines are met according to plan.
Ensures the high standards of safety are met and maintained at the facility.
Coordinates maintenance activities through teamwork with departmental supervisors to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Assist in coordinating departmental day to day plant operations, upcoming outages and emergencies related to facility maintenance. This requires being available for calls on the off-shift hours.
Execute multiple tasks as required to maintain plant operations.
Develop, implement, revise, and maintain policies and procedures related to the Maintenance Department including all EH&S aspects of the job.
Identifies training needs, initiates development plans and validates competencies.
Responsible for execution of preventive maintenance program to ensure reliability of production machinery and equipment.
Participates in annual budget preparation as it relates to maintenance of the facility.
Inspects jobs in progress to ensure procedures are being followed and that work is completed to proper standards of safety and workmanship.
Monitors and drives the workload and schedule for the facility in coordination with Department Managers to adjust for changes in work requirements.

Job Requirements:

Demonstrate industry knowledge in chemical manufacturing business with leadership through analyzing potential changes in the process which; generate cost savings and productivity increases for the department and facility.
Ability to direct and foster the development and implementation of reliability management practices relative to preventive, predictive, and planned maintenance through continuous improvement activities to achieve world class performance.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to direct, coach and develop maintenance resources on the proper care and maintenance of the process units.
Assumes other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.
Exercise HR skills by conducting interviews of prospective employees, administering discipline, and handling other personnel problems for hourly subordinates.
Required weekend duty rotation as assigned.
Ability to initiate and handle a variety of projects or commitments simultaneously and keep track of important details and follow up on delegated assignments.
Must possess a sense of urgency to achieve objectives and deadlines despite obstacles and time pressures.
Strong knowledge of and proven use of engineering concepts associated with electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and chemical systems.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment and competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
Demonstrated leadership ability to affect change, consistently drive results, and influence all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with Excel, Word, Power Point, SAP, and Project Management Software (Must be strong in SAP)

Physical Requirements:

Walking, standing, bending, sitting, lifting, and driving.
Varied temperature and noise level, inside or outside of the facility, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.

Education / Experience:

Bachelorís Degree in engineering
Minimum experience of 10 years in chemical manufacturing in a leadership role.
