Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Traffic Safety Patrol personnel to perform motorist assistance services in the Denver, Colorado area on weekends. Responsibilities include communicating with TMC for emergencies and/or incidents on the roadway; help mitigate delays caused by traffic incidents or obstructions on the road, increase safety of emergency responders, document all work performed with detailed time logs, etc. The primary goal of the Road Ranger is to ensure, as much as possible and within the project and company policies, a free flow of traffic on the road and to assist responding agencies in safely securing a scene and reopening the roadway as quickly and safely as possible to meet the contract goals and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures. This position is a good fit for someone who wants to help provide safer roads for the traveling public.

Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
Geographic area applicable to CDOT Local Hiring Goal consists of, but is not limited to, the following zip codes: 80010,80011, 80019, 80022, 80205, 80207, 80211, 80216, 80221, 80238, 80239, 80249, 80266.


  • Patrol Highway and help mitigate delays caused by traffic incidents or obstructions on the road
    • Assist with disabled motorists
    • Help a stranded motorist change their tire
    • Provide a gallon of gas for a motorist who ran out
  • Communicate with the Traffic Management Center for emergencies and/or incidents on the roadway
  • Increase safety of emergency responders by helping to provide advanced warning to drivers
  • Document all work performed with detailed time logs

Preferred Experience:
Roadway maintenance experience
Vehicle roadside assistance
MOT Certifications
CPR certified

High School Diploma/GED
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to operate hand/power tools

Full time, must be able to work outside of set schedule, when needed. Our two openings are listed below
