Title: Assistant Project Manager - Construction
Position Type: Direct Hire
Location: Washington, DC
Reports to: Construction Manager
The Assistant Construction Project Manager will assist in the management of technical and administrative staff for a long term project at a military site in Washington DC. Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, the Assistant Construction Project Manager will be responsible for developing task order proposals, supporting the management team in tracking task budgets, monitoring activity schedules, and supporting the Construction and Project Managers. This position has upward mobility in to Construction or Project Manager opportunity with this growing well established EPC company for energy efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensuring project completion within budget/schedule and in conformance with specifications
Monitor implementation of a comprehensive set of Energy Conservation Measures
Reviewing contracts and subcontracts and managing subcontractors
Monitoring project financials and reporting to the Project Manager
Developing and maintaining design schedules for approval
Resolving field-initiated questions with the technical design team Participating and attending design review meetings and recording meeting minutes and tracking action items
Coordinating the development of project deliverables with all parties involved
Participating in building and maintaining a positive client relationship
Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety standards, codes, regulations.
Review monitoring and verification plans and protocols, commissioning protocols, and associated post-implementation operations & maintenance protocols.
Assist with business development responsibilities during development and implementation.
75% of time at client sites – Initial site is located in Washington DC for up to 2 years
corporate office is in Arlington, VA
Ability to work irregular hours during implementation.

Willingness to travel 50% of the time for future projects.
Will be sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Will perform repetitive tasks such as computer work daily
Mandatory for PPE while on active construction sites
Some use of tools at construction site
Ascend / descend both exterior and interior ladders / stairs.
Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, specifically in engineering or construction management.
2+ years of relevant experience in construction project management or project engineering.
Experience and competency with Project Management Software (MS Project, Primavera, Procore, etc.)
A passion in the areas of energy efficiency, alternative energy, and sustainability
Experience with one or more of the following: mechanical equipment, electrical, HVAC, Lighting, Renewables, and other energy efficiency industrial or government construction projects
OSHA-30 certification preferred.
