[Buyer] Procurement Specialist - WIPP - 7381

Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Procurement Specialist opportunity to support our customer at the WIPP Facility outside of Carlsbad, NM.

Per diem is available for those who qualify.
Work location is on-site at WIPP

The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.
The successful candidate will negotiate/administer prime-to-prime contracts or funding instruments for company activities performed at various DOE sites. Assume responsibility for planning, implementing and executing long-term and short-term business and technical management programs related to the Prime Contract with little or no direction. Perform day-to-day execution of specialized department and company programs, including interfacing with DOE and external customers and addressing their concerns. Assist the Acquisition Services manager in administering the Prime Contract including preparing documents/position papers on significant business and technical management matters involving financial, customer relations, employee relations or oversight activities and issues. Assist in developing highly visible and vital business plans, policies, and programs and long-term objectives. Conduct various business analyses incorporating various complex microcomputer applications.
Knowledge of cost or price analysis, working knowledge of U. S. Government policies and regulations with preference for DOE-related experience. Above average research and creativity is required to solve contract requirement discrepancies/disagreements. Strong writing and analytical skills are a must. Considerable experience performing extensive research and creativity to establish and negotiate regulatory and commercial requirements as well as satisfy independent estimates and schedule requirements. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required; knowledge of ERP business systems (e.g. Peoplesoft/Oracle) a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or Equivalency with fourteen (14) years of related experience,
• Associate’s Degree with ten (10) years of related experience or
• Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of related experience is required.
o A combination of education and relevant experience is acceptable, wherein the skills and abilities to perform the position duties and accountabilities have been adequately demonstrated.
o A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
• DOE Prime Contract experience
