Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for Sr Eng II-Sr Quality Engineer opportunities for our customer in Richland, WA to support the Waste Treatment Plant at the Hanford Site.

Full Time Office Project - No Telework
Sr Eng II-Sr Quality Engineer

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.

Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position may offer telework flexibility.
This position is an Engineering Technologist – PowerBI/Electronic form developer, who will support the project engineering team by delivering software solutions for process improvements. This position will independently develop, test, implement, troubleshoot, and software process improvements including PowerBI dashboards and electronic forms. This position will be a direct report to the Quality Engineering Supervisor.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Level 1: Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 6 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree 12 years of related experience is required
Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 9 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree 15 years of related experience is required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent communication skills, including interfacing with Stakeholders to gather software requirements
• Ability to review a process and evaluate process gaps.
• Experience in basic program coding, logic, data structure, and troubleshooting.
• A strong aptitude for utilizing the computer to collect, organizes, and presents technical data through the use of relational databases.
• Possess the desire and ability to monitor large quantities of information and employ efficient extraction techniques in response to requests for information.
• As a member of an Engineering team, communicate with other data analysts, engineers, technical experts, and management.
• Possess the ability to accurately identify and capture relevant technical fields/details from within large data sets.
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
• Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)
• Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with extracting, cleaning, interpreting and modeling data from diverse heterogenous sources.
• Experience writing SQL queries.
• Experience and understanding of directional relationships, creating many to many relationships, logic hierarchies, segmentation.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting of developed reports and dashboards for accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Experience in PowerBI dashbard development
• Advanced PowerBI and DAX skills, including custom date tables, iterators, measures using VAR, CALCULATE, Calculate modifiers, TREATAS, Time Intelligence, etc.
• Dashboard report design, including slicers, bookmarks, drill throughs, edit interactions, hierarchies, most suitable visualization for the data.
• Advanced Power Query skills including using parameters, custom functions, and modeling of data into Star Schemas.
• PowerBI optimization and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience managing local PowerBI servers

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary role of the Engineering Technologist is to support the Quality Engineering Supervisor, Lead, and other Engineering Group Supervisors, to develop and implement software solutions for process improvements which include process metrics (i.e., PowerBI dashboards), and electronic forms.
• The Engineering Technologist identify sources of engineering data and maintains data integrity.
• The Engineering Technologist supports meeting presentations, including preparing presentation slides.
• The Engineering Technologist assures the work is performed to the high quality standards for nuclear facilities while executing to the schedule.
• In addition, it will be required that the candidate has excellent communication skills and can demonstrate leadership, quality, and safety values within the work group and to interfacing disciplines

Compensation
Salary is commensurate with education, experience and unique qualifications, and may range between $40 to $87 hourly.
