Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for Sr Eng II-Senior CSA Designer opportunities for our customer in Richland, WA to support the Waste Treatment Plant at the Hanford Site.

Full time Office/Project – No Telework offered
Sr Eng II-Senior CSA Designer

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest. Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Directly performs or administers work of designers and drafters of a design group for a business line technology. This work includes the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings for nuclear facilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in computer aided drafting, engineering or technology and 13 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, 19 years of related experience is required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)
Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
In-Roads design experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
• Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy.
• Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort.
• Coordinates or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.
• Reviews or defines engineering scope changes, as required, for project management.
• Endorses or prepares reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use.
• Maintains up-to-date skills in Bechtel Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) relevant to design work and ensures that maximum use is made thereof.
• Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation and satisfaction

Compensation
Salary is commensurate with education, experience and unique qualifications, and may range between $40 to $87 hourly.
