Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Subject Matter Expert 2 (Senior Technical Oversight) opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Location: Onsite with remote flexibility up to 50/50. Preference of primarily onsite, SMSI Building in Los Alamos (not onsite)
Group/Organization: PIE-2
Work Schedule: Flexibility with core hours M-F 8-4, 9/80 or 5/8 preferred. On Call possible but there is onsite coverage OT possible during construction (only on as needed basis).

Clearance: Able obtain and maintain “Q”

Control Account Manager provides Technical/Engineering. Earned Value Management reporting, corrections to time/charges. Technical/Work project manager. Reporting budgeting.
Manages and directs the daily tasks required to perform ongoing support of design, construction, startup and/or operations/ maintenance activities of complex high technology systems or projects.
Renders expert opinions on engineering and technical issues, provides recommendations to project design and construction teams in specific areas of expertise.
Provides independent reviews and assessments in areas of specialized expertise and provides guidance to project teams in delivering results on projects of complex, high- technology nature.
Interfaces with management personnel and customer representatives.
Develops and enforces work standards, assigns schedules, reviews work quality, communicates goals, objectives, and policies of the organization to subordinates.
Provides leadership for the project team, coordinates with the functional organizations, and supervises senior personnel within the project organization.
Will need to drive onsite for some onsite meetings. May need to travel to manufacturing site/satellite offices.
Project Management Certification may be required.

Desired Skills:

Non-Technical – 1. Subcontract management 2. Earned Value Management 3. Leading a team

Software knowledge requirements:
Basic computer skills

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science or Business Management (Masters preferred). Twelve (12 years) of directly applicable experience in specialized technical field and is acknowledged as an expert in the specific area in question.
