Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for Piping Designers opportunities for our customer in Oak Ridge, TN at the Y-12 National Security Complex. Must be able to obtain a “Q” Clearance.

Hiring for 2 positions.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provide CNS, Mission Engineering with full time piping designer support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat3 facilities. The responsibilities for the designers are:

Provide design output documentation to support major facility modifications and Project Engineering the types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.
Works with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.
Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable. Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees. Must be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:
Associate degree in technical field with a minimum of 10 years mechanical/piping designer experience.

Experience:
A minimum of ten years’ relevant experience is required.

Security: A Q clearance is preferred and, if not currently possessing one, must have the ability to obtain and maintain one.
