We are currently seeking an Electrical Project Estimator specifically to support a long-term series of industrial projects in the Austin, Texas area. Details Below.
Title: Electrical Project Estimator
Project: Industrial Facilities Construction
Location: Austin, Texas
Duration: Long-term 3-5 years (potential to extend)
Position Type: Contract or Direct Permanent
Schedule: 4-10's base schedule (Mon-Thurs w/ overtime as necessary).
Overtime: Yes, 1.5 on all O/T hours
Pay-rate: Based on experience.
Per Diem: Yes, $400/weekly
Start Date: ASAP (October 2023)
Responsibilities:
Convert written specifications and construction drawings into submittals for
customer requests for quotes.
Determine most cost-effective options to meet project specifications.
Receiving requests and responding to inquiries from customer
Meets with vendors/suppliers to build strong and profitable relationships that
benefit the company and gives vendors/suppliers incentive to drive more
opportunities.
Communicates with suppliers to discuss material specifications, clarifies, and
confirms bill of materials, negotiates pricing, and identifies alternatives for
special or custom orders.
Maintain proper files for product quotes within the company quotations program.
Supervises proposal negotiations with both suppliers and customers.
Gathers all necessary information including and not limited to labor, data-com,
switchgear, transformer, instrument, apparatus, and lighting take-offs for
preparing customer quotations.
Coordinates receipt of required information for preparation of final quotation
submittal.
Communicates with customers to resolve problems and requests for information
with projects during bidding process.
Follows-up on open and outstanding quotations customer to determine status.
Communicates with account representatives, account executives, and inside sales
reps to ensure quotes and resulting orders are complete.
Upon award of project issue purchase order requests and track all material for
the project.
Upon award of project, track project financials (costs of materials and labor)
against bid/quote.
Assist the construction manager in day-to-day activities including progress
reports and RFIs as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
5 years experience in the electrical industry.
Strong knowledge of electrical construction, electrical products, power,
instrumentation, and controls.
PMP Certificate preferred (not required).
Exceptional verbal/ written communication skills and well-developed
interpersonal skills
Strong initiative and ability to handle increasing responsibility over time.
Excellent time management/organizational skills with ability to meet important
deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite, NetSuite, FieldPoint)
