Our client is seeking a Construction Specialist III to work within their facilities located in Cowans Ford, NC for a one-year assignment extended yearly.
The Construction Specialist III supports a diverse Construction and Maintenance team to achieve company objectives and is responsible for the execution of construction, maintenance, and restoration activities. Possesses leadership skills to support construction, maintenance, and restoration activities. Responsible for supporting the execution of the work to meet customer needs. Support management of customer commitment dates and requests to increase customer satisfaction. Ensure the adherence to safe work practices, standards, work methods and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate weekly and long-range IM support needs with PMs and Implementation Supervisor.
Assist in construction kick off meetings and readiness reviews for upcoming projects.
Support constructability reviews.
Support pre-bid walkdowns.
Share pertinent OE and lessons learned with the IM team.
Performs weekly site visits to project sites for focused observations to ensure safety and quality performance are being met.
Reviews and authorizes lift plans, track revisions to standards and procedures to share with IMs.
Covers short term project needs.
Support Management with on boarding and training of new IMs.
Promotes and champions human performance tools and performance improvement.
Supports event investigation when necessary.
Verification of contractor safety, equipment, and LOTO training and qualifications.
Monitor and ensure installation contractor compliance with Safety, LOTO, NERC/CIP, FME (foreign material exclusion), and environmental policies.
Ensures housekeeping standards are enforced.
Overall ensures the adherence to safe work practices, standards, work methods and procedures.
Qualifications:
Construction or Engineering Degree
Level II Rigging Qualification
Barge and Working Over Water Experience
Experience with oversight of diving activities
Experience with oversight of electrical work

This role acts as the SME for construction activities and provides primary oversight of implementation managers (IM).
