$30-$40/hr, $65/day per diem

2–3+ years of fiber splicing and testing experience preferably with fair amount of ribbon/mass fusion splicing (Fujikura 90R/100R and Fujikura 90S/100S Fusion Machines).

· Background working with higher fiber count cables such as 864, 1728, 3456 and 6912 strands.

· Ability to consistently achieve low-loss, clean splices—not just complete a splice count.

· Attention to detail with Fiber routing, cable breakout/cable prepping, and enclosure/termination work.

· Take pride in neat fiber trays, closures, racks, and documentation—not simply getting the task done quickly.

· Ideal candidates should have background in working in environments such as Datacenters, central-offices, or high-density fiber environments.

· Comfortable working from drawings, fiber schedules, rack elevations, and work orders and have detailed and accurate labeling and port/cable identification standards.

· Shows up on time and ready to work and can maintain quality during long shifts, scheduling pressures, and repetitive production work.

· Hands-on proficiency using OTDR, OLTS, Fiber Inspection Scope and VFL’s. (Exfo, Fluke, Viavi)

· Familiarity with testing and documenting end-to-end link loss is essential.

· Must understand how to interpret OTDR traces, identify events, isolate faults, and distinguish between connector, splice, bend, and cable issues.

· Ability to read construction drawings and fiber test specifications

· Ability to complete test reports, splice records, redlines, and closeout packages.

· Communicates early when a problem, material shortage, drawing conflict, or failed test could affect schedule.

· Ability to work individually and as a team.

· Great team workers as fiber technicians will coordinate and work with construction, cabling, network, QA/QC, and client teams to finish projects.

· Should be able to clearly explain failures in network, have a plan for corrective actions and verify their own work before turnover

· Can help train less experienced technicians.

· Should be willing to travel as some of these data center projects can run up to 1 yr+(We will usually try to run a schedule of 3 weeks on/1 week off).

· Strong safety awareness as an employee who is technically skilled, but disregards safety or site procedures can be a major risk in a hyperscale facility.
