Power Plant Operator Trainee
Temporary Assignment- duration -/+ 6 months
Regular work schedule will be 4/10-hour days per week (Monday - Thursday).
Candidates must be near or live in the surround in area of Middletown, CA.

Position Summary:
A dayshift plant operations trainee who will assist the roving plant operator in his or her daily operations activities. The auxiliary operator will routinely provide management with a skills assessment. The operations trainee will demonstrate operational skills progression through completion of assigned qualification books, and successful peer evaluations.
This will be a temporary job assignment and has the potential of full time employment through natural attrition of the operations department. Client reserves the right to modify the requirements of this position at any time as business needs may require a change in job duties.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Take instruction and direction from the roving plant operator within the assigned roving pair of plants; work closely with the operations lead for basic skills development.
Develop knowledge and skills necessary to operate and maintain power plants within production area.
Develop knowledge of Stretford and Incinerator gas abatement systems.
Work on completion of milestone checks in the qualification book to be administered by the senior relief operator.
Perform assigned plant preventative maintenance.
Assist plant operations techs with switching operations.
Assist plant operations techs with secondary verification of LOTO during development and execution of clearances.
Other duties as required and requested.
Qualifications:
Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
Must have the ability to learn general power plant physics and fundamentals.
Must have the ability to work well in teams and with others.
Must demonstrate written and oral communication abilities.
Must possess a valid California driver's license.
Must have a basic aptitude for Microsoft Office software suite.
Will obtain a working knowledge of the software systems currently in use by plant operations.
