Seeking a Project Manager for a Civil project on a Wind Farm in Western Kansas. This candidate will need to be within driving distance as flights are currently not an option due to safety concerns.

This project will run from April roughly to October/November, laying the roadways and asphalt for the base of the wind project.

The windfarm upgrades consist of installation of erosion/sediment controls, over 30 miles of road improvements, construction of a 5-acre equipment laydown area, construction of crane pads, hammer heads, turn arounds and access road radii for the repower of numerous windmills. The project also requires the construction of over 1 mile of heavy crane walk roadways and restoration of areas listed above. The position is temporary with an anticipated duration of approximately 8 months but could lead to fulltime employment depending on need and performance.

Job Requirements:
∑ Related work experience in construction management or project management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
∑ Working knowledge and practical experience dealing with earthwork specifically construction of access roads and crane pads.
∑ Experience in all fiscal aspects of project management.
∑ Strong understanding of engineering and construction documents and processes.
∑ Ability to review contract drawings and understand civil project plans and specifications.
∑ Proficient in MS Project.
∑ Must pass company pre-employment medical exam and drug test.
∑ Must possess a valid driverís license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
∑ Must have the ability to speak, read and write English.
∑ Must pass pre-employment background check.

Job Description
∑ Provide onsite project management of all parties involved with project from mobilization through final completion and close-out phases.
∑ Attend and participate in weekly project meetings and daily safety meetings.
∑ Work closely with and direct outside engineering firm to develop site plans for construction.
∑ Act as the liaison between the owner and field crews communicating progress to the owner, changes in scope to the field crews and notifying the owner of changed conditions.
∑ Coordinate with home office to issue Purchase Orders and Subcontract Agreement to sub-contractors and suppliers. Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers for materials and services.
∑ Manage and coordinate any subcontractors or suppliers needed on the project.
∑ Closely coordinate with Superintendentís daily work activities.
∑ Prepare a two-week look ahead schedule weekly.
∑ Plan, direct and coordinate project activities to ensure that goals/objectives are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and funding parameters, and with the highest levels of safety.
∑ Develop and review project schedules and provide updates to the owner as required.
∑ Prepare and submit shop drawings, submittals, and work plans.
∑ Develop and process Change Orders.
∑ Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) from the client.
∑ Track actual progress, scheduling and invoicing.
