[Construction Manager] Construction Project Manager for Scale Solar-Richmond VA

Remote work available 2 weeks out of each month.

Desired experience:

GIS, civil engineering, environmental engineering, permitting
Utility scale solar project experience, construction experience
Overtime: None required, but available up to 10 hours of overtime
Work Schedule: M-F 8-5
The Solar Project Leader works cross-functionally with a diverse group of stakeholders, assisting the Project Manager in their duties as well as facilitating the Project Engineer in their duties; this role bridges responsibilities between the Project Manager and Project Engineering. The Project Leader supports new large utility-scale solar projects. . The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, comfortable wearing many hats, manage multiple projects concurrently and work effectively in a highly collaborative environment. Looking for individuals who are talented and highly regarded within the industry, detail-oriented and have demonstrated the ability to work back from core customer needs. Consistently manages stakeholder expectations and multiple work scopes efficiently with high level of organization and attention to detail. Solar Project Leaders are comfortable working with developers, engineers, local officials, real estate professionals, contractors and others external team members from initial site review through EPC contract negotiation and construction.

Responsibilities

Work with technical and non-technical business owners/partners to overcome obstacles and deliver results
Lead a collaborative development/pre-construction process for multiple new large utility scale solar projects
Evaluate site feasibility including locality requirements, environmental regulatory requirements, and existing conditions
Manage resources to ensure prompt information transfer and contract adherence
Provide detailed oversight and support of contractors and coordinate technical review of contractor-supplied deliverables
Support coordination between project teams, including construction, engineering, real estate, environmental, and project management, etc
Contributes to project completion related research, including state and local permitting and regulatory processes
Establishes, maintains, and updates project specific files, databases, records, and other documents
Provide engineering support for designated solar projects.
This position serves as the primary interface between the clients consulting engineers (OE), EPC contractors, and internal project development team through the transmittal process.
Ensures project results meet contractual requirements regarding safety, environmental, quality, reliability, schedule and cost.
Candidate will be required to review all EPC project correspondence, including daily/weekly/monthly report content and structure, to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Candidate will develop and manage a project Action Item list through development completion and EPC contracting.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned


Basic Qualifications

3-10 years related experience leading project engineering duties and/or assisting in project management duties associated with large capital construction projects
Have strong multi-tasking skills
Experienced with Adobe Professional, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Knowledge of engineering practices in support of all solar systems
Knowledge of project management duties including contracting, organizing information for reports, etc.
Strong organizational skills are a must, with the ability to prioritize a large task load in a fast-paced environment
Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to solve complex problems with full transparency and adequate documentation
Must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

Engineering Degree
Utility Scale Solar Experience
Self-motivated, able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to overcome obstacles and deliver results
