MachineMetrics, Inc. develops and integrates award-winning production monitoring software for manufacturing companies. The Electrical Engineer travels to our new clientís shops to connect their machines to our software.
As a growing startup, we are seeking an individual who excels at working independently and responsibly, with a strong ability to troubleshoot. The ideal candidate will be personable and responsive to our customers, and love to travel.
This position requires some knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations. Candidates must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient, and must also be able to understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, or instructions. They must also be motivated to work on their own and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are a necessary part of this position. Bonus points if youíve worked in an industrial environment.

Interface machine control circuitry with data monitoring equipment
Help with R&D on new sensor projects and test them in the field
Create documentation on integration processe
Set-up an onsite server, IP addresses, and other networking tasks
Make decisions based on technical documents and blueprints
Convey information efficiently between customers and the integration team
Observe safety procedures and meet electrical codes
Bachelorís or Associateís Degree in Electrical Engineering
Some IT/networking knowledge is preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of electrical systems and industrial equipment
Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations
Familiarity with equipment lock out procedures
PLC Programming experience is a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents
Willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc
This position requires a significant (sometimes 70%+) amount of travel to various locations, often with short notice. Candidates will only be considered if they possess a valid driverís license, passport, and are able to travel without restriction. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
