This position is for a basic assembler in a cable manufacturing company. They will be working on a basic assembly line, utilizing basic hand and power tools to assemble cables for structural support systems. Candidates will be working in multiple areas on the production line and cross train on the process.
They will be assembling small pieces so ability to have good dexterity skills is crucial. They will need to be able to read a tape measure (using the metric system) to ensure all pieces are spaced out correctly.
If they are assigned to the Woodridge location (Burr Ridge is Main) they will be working with heavier products. Cables that they'll be working with there will be up 25mm in diameter. This is a larger scale production line where they have 6-7 people on the line and all will have to be cross trained open to different jobs. Some candidates will be running up and down the assembly line manually pulling the cable, other employees will be manually assembling ferrules (supply that is used for crimping and holding cables together). They will be required to lift finished cables at times into designated storing areas.
+6 Months or more experience working in a manufacturing environment
**Ideally looking for someone who has worked in an assembler or assembly role
**Electronic assembly, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly would be great experience to have
+6 Months or more in reading tape measures
**Candidates need to be able to look at a tape measure and interpret the metric system
+6 Months or more experience in inspection or an example of paying close attention to detail
+Ability to stand for 8 hours on a shift
+Ability to lift 50 pounds
+Ability to work as a team player and communicate well with others
