1st week responsibilities

Candidate will be expected to be able to do basic tooling repairs in the first week. If given a tool and a print for a down tool, they will be expected to repair the damage with little coaching.


Job Description

Working in the tool room repairing steel rule dies and bypass trim dies. They will utilize Mig and Tig welding, manual lathes, grinding equipment to perform, repairs and PM's on the dies. Fabrication skills, blueprint reading, use of measurement tools to ensure specs. When it is slow they would like this individual to be able to assist with maintenance team with mechanical repairs.
1st day-
Candidates have to be able to do crane work and be able to sue hand tools to do the maintenance on the dies.

Performance Measures-
A persons ability to complete the required PMs for the shift and help troubleshoot a damaged die is how they will be measured.

Best Vs Average-
Their best Tool and Die employee is able to work quickly and effectively.. When a machine goes down because of tooling the department is failing.
It is very normal for trades to work 6 days a week and to get 55-60 hours a week. 10-12 hour days.
Will be required to work a lot of overtime. Train on days and move to an off shift more than likely. Must have own tools.

Will do a lot of in press repairs. They have dedicated machines and try to keep the tool in the press so they can get it going ASAP.
