Entry level Punch Press Machine operator (7307472)

Ramping up for a weekend shift because overtime has been extreme: Weekend shift will start in October, will train on 1st shift and 2nd shift now; weekend shift will be 2 months for now and then could go longer, if not the contractors will be absorbed into the 1st and 2nd shift.

Need entry level die cast and punch press operators--only need 1 year of machine operating for $15/hr. If have 3-5 years of machine operator experience pay $16-18.
Shift differential is .75 cents

DIE CAST DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible operating a numbers manual, semi-automatic, and automatic die casting machines which produce a variety of die cast parts. The operator will be responsible for the removal, installation, and operating of die cast dies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* (70%) Operates all semi-automatic and automatic die casting machines as per approved die casting procedures. This includes starting machines, turning off machines, adjusting sprue fault, and starting robots.
* (10%) Performs hourly quality checks and must complete SPC form.
* (5%) Performs set-ups on any of the semi-automatic and automatic die casting machines.
* (5%) Performs repairs/ maintenance on any die casting machine in the department as required and upon authorization by the supervisor and/or lead. This involves repairing water leaks, replacing cutters, and changing nozzles.
* (5%) Change rings, pistons, goosenecks, and plum dies while working with 800* metal.
* (5%) Keeps and maintains good housekeeping in the department.

Education and Experience Profile

* High School diploma or equivalent required.
* One year of related machine operator experience preferred.

PUNCH PRESS DESCRIPTION:
Installs, operates and removes a variety of dies and raw material coils to produce parts in a progressive stamping environment. Operates up to three machines in a manufacturing cell.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* (35%) Performs basic operations of a three machine cell, performs die sets, safety checks, quality checks.
* (15%) Operates hoist to set up raw material coil. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment to feed material through press.
* (10%) Installs safety guards, adjusts air ejection pressure, arranges scrap hoppers and catch pans.
* (15%) Monitors dies to identify possible stations not running. Monitors operation of equipment during production run and makes any necessary adjustments.
* (5%) Submits first piece to Quality for approval.
* (10%) Checks parts visually for defects. Uses gauges and calipers to measure parts as outlined on SPC sheet. Performs all SPC checks.
* (5%) Works with supervisor, engineer and or lead to troubleshoot tool/machine problems.
* (5%) Performs minor maintenance/tool repair on presses/dies.
