EHS Director opportunity with a growing aerospace manufacturing company in the Los Angeles, CA area.
The EHS Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the EHS compliance program. They will ensure the company is compliant with federal, state and local regulations. The EHS Director will drive key policies and procedures to mitigate risk and shape the operations culture of the company.
Develop and implement a comprehensive EHS program that includes, but is not limited to, policy, program and process development, training management, and internal auditing and inspections
Ensure proper documentation and accurate reporting
Share workplace injury statistics and root causes with key staff for risk prevention initiatives
Stay up to date on new and current EHS regulations
Promote a proactive safety culture focused on incident prevention, employee awareness, and regulatory compliance
Analyze incident data to determine incident trends and patterns to develop programs aimed at reducing these causes
Track program progress, efficacy, and develop solutions to EHS challenges
Assist in other compliance domains as needed
Responsibilities may include additional special projects assigned by company leadership
Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental, Safety, or Health related field
5+ years’ experience developing and implementing Environmental, Health, and Safety programs
Experience in the aerospace or heavy manufacturing industry
Possess a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local EHS related regulations
Experience with hazardous field operations
Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Experience in a fast-paced, high growth organization
Able to work autonomously and is a self-starter
Manage changing priorities, able to operate in ambiguous environments
Experience managing EHS programs that apply to multiple facilities
Must be local to Los Angeles, CA area or willing to permanently relocate
