Foods Maintenance Mechanic (JP-002015731)

Open to any background foods experience a plus

PLC knowledge is a plus

2nd Shift 2 pm - 10:30 pm + OT after the shift

3rd shift 10pm-630am + OT after the shift. Typically working 6 days a week, so make sure to talk to the candidates about this.

Working on Conveyers, packaging machines, automated machines, mixers, ovens ect

Must have:

be familiar will all voltages? up to 220 -480v

Must have some knowledge troubleshooting PLC- being able to program would be huge plus

3 phase AC/DC Motors- trouble shooting high voltage equiptment (480v)

Blueprints and schematics - will need to be 50% electrical and 50% Mechanical

Performing preventative maintenance- changing oils, gears, bearings, ect

** Ideally candidate should come from a foods background. Not a must but very much a plus.

** Any education or certifications would be huge plus

Responsible for working with maintenance mechanics, all department leads, supervision to meet the daily requirements to manufacture products safely, and match scheduled production line deadlines.

Ensures compliance with GMP procedure/practices as well as human and food safety programs.

Assists supervision in maintaining equipment efficiency by completion of work orders, and prioritizing the crew to complete work scheduled, and unplanned line interruption.

Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, department policies and programs.

Expected to work in other areas as needed, work closely with other departments, all shifts.

Work with mechanics, train mechanics to repair all processing equipment, lead by example.

Be proactive in preparing for all daily events related to maintaining equipment, and spare parts. Order parts and materials to maintain proper minimum and maximum inventory levels.

Review daily schedule, set up lines, start up and preflight all equipment to meet next shifts schedule.

Conduct daily inspection and check of the ammonia system, engine room components, document findings.

Direct the other mechanics, daily work, answering calls, set their priority to minimize line interruption.

Inspect shop area, all lubricants and chemicals are properly stored, and exits are not blocked.

Support quality control programs to ensure production procedures are in compliance with best practices food safety and quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Best candidates has performed both electrical and mechanical duties in a foods company or foods packing company

1st day they will need to pass safety training and learn the plant layout

performance is monitored by how well they are able to shorten down time and follow pm schedule

Disqualifers Will not take candidates who worked at pennant foods, chef solutions, or fresh start bakeries in the past

Education/Experience Requirements: High school, general education degree (GED), 3 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
