Responsible for the efficient and effective packaging of large metal/electrical control units and/or large metal components with no damage. Match paperwork with material to ensure accuracy of labeling with shipping documents. Deliver product as needed.
We are looking for an experienced professional capable of providing on-the-spot solutions with little or no supervision who can work in all weather conditions. Must be familiar with tagging, shipping documents/manifests, and slings, hooks, forklifts, and other lift devices. Must be able to read work orders, properly pack heavy metal components without causing any damage, and stack cargo in specific locations as directed suing pallets or cargo boards. A successful candidate must be able to keep meticulous records and communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the company.
Must be able to pack large parts in a way that prevents any scratching or denting of paint or metal.
Must be willing, able and licensed to drive vehicles and move freight to and from docks, trucks, etc.
Familiarity with tagging, shipping documents and lift devices
Must be able to use a ruler accurately and perform basic math
Ability to back up shipping lead on all computer transactions
Safely drive both a fork lift and a truck to load or transport materials
Ability to use electric tools, such as saws, nail guns, etc.
Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours per day
Attention to detail and pride in work are critical
Must be a team player and willing to perform tasks that may not be in a particular job description, take initiative when appropriate, and open to constructive criticism.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Preference will be shown to applicants with 2 or more years of packing, shipping and receiving experience, with a focus on moving large, heavy structures. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED:
Valid Texas Driver's license
Fork Lift certification preferred but not required
