This warehouse has a variety of roles that all perform a specific duty to help move product through the warehouse.

"Line Feeders" ("Heavy Lifters") - These are the majority of the openings across all shifts, and the most important role in the warehouse. Line Feeders will have product staged for them in large bins that has been returned by customers. It is almost always unboxed, and oddly stacked. Examples could be lawn mowers, light fixtures, hand tools, fans, patio furniture, and anything else you could find (besides the raw materials.. that goes to the "Recycle Area". Line Feeders use pallet jack to move the product across the aisle from truck to scanner (about 30 feet). This is what they are doing ALL DAY. Their only job ifs to keep the Scanners "Fed".

Scanners - This is the "easier" job on the incoming side. As product gets fed to the scanner by the line feeder, it comes down a small and slow conveyor belt to be scanned back into the warehouse. This helps identify where the product goes, is it able to be resold, should it be sold to liquidators, is it broken/scrap, etc.

Bulk Sort - The bulk sort area is where larger/odd shaped products go. Examples are carpets, tiles, etc. When the scanner is finished scanning in the product a heavy lifter or warehouse person moves the product to the correct area (Bulk, Mezzanine). In these 2 areas the job of the employee is to match up the item in the large gaylords (big container) with the pallet they are supposed to be placed on.

Recycle Area - This is the area where raw materials come in. Metals, wood, etc are examples of things that come here. Candidates will wear gloves here because of the product they are handling.

Overall, this is a giant sorting operation that ONLY gets in returns from customers. Almost nothing that comes through this warehouse goes to a retail store.
