We currently have an opening for a Maintenance Manager, this role reports directly to the Operations Manager.
About Port Townsend Paper Corporation (PTPC)
The Port Townsend Paper (“PTPC”) mill has been in continuous operation for over 90 years. We operate on a continuous basis to produce OCC and kraft pulp which is used to manufacture linerboard, kraft paper, corrugating medium and market pulp. Leads the safety performance of the maintenance department.
Ensures health and safety policies are complied with.
Creates the maintenance budget.
Administration of the maintenance budget and expenses for departments.
Owns and facilitates the Manufacturing Work System (MWS) process.
Ensures that prioritization and scheduling meetings are held and conducted per the MWS guidelines with mandatory attendance.
Ensures shutdown management processes are in place and metrics are being utilized to identify effectiveness of the processes.
Monitors and analyze MWS and CMMS metrics for the department.
Oversees training for maintenance employees.
Actively develops, promotes, and tracks the utilization of precision maintenance.
Drives development of long-term planning.
Audits MWS meetings/functions.
Reviews new equipment installations to assure reliability and maintainability.
Participates in the allocation of maintenance resources.
Supervision of maintenance department employees.
Resolves bargaining unit / labor agreement issues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Maintenance management practices, supervision, pulp, and paper processes.
Computer literate and knowledgeable in the use of word processing and spreadsheet, and database applications.
Knowledgeable of maintenance craft processes, production equipment and systems, and maintenance and construction practices.
Working knowledge of hydraulics, power transmission, metallurgy, manufacturing practices, process control, project management, scheduling practices, current preventive, and predictive maintenance practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical).
