PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Research & Development Technician to work at theMcCook, IL Honeywell Location.
Summary:
- The Pilot Plant Operator will be responsible for operating a group of pilot plants in accordance with the written and oral instructions given by the Pilot Plant technicians and engineers. Perform all necessary tasks and activities affecting the operations, safety, and housekeeping within the department. The work is non-routine and the individual must be more versatile, adaptable, resourceful, and attentive to meet the demands of changing processes and procedures. Operate, monitor and take readings on a group of pilot plants, as well as make adjustments and take corrective actions to keep the plants on specifications during routine operations.
Demonstrate consistency in retaining and applying learned skills
Perform tasks or job functions accurately and in a timely manner
Be proficient in the operation of commonly used process equipment.
Operate, monitor and take readings on a group of pilot plants, as well as make adjustments and take corrective actions to keep the plants on specification.
Coordinate the operation of an assigned group of pilot plants during plant start-ups, shutdowns, and modifications.
Collect, organize and conduct limited interpretation of results and report those results to the customer.
Operate a PC to perform various functions such as including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Will ensure there is good communication within the Pilot Plant Testing Group and with Researchers
Ensure compliance with HS&E policies and procedures.
Recommend quality and productivity improvements.
Basic Candidate Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Must be willing to work a rotating shift, and get ones hands dirty.
Good math and mechanical aptitude.
Strong work ethic. Independently motivated to produce results.
Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
Ability to work in an empowered team environment, including the ability to effectively communicate, share information, resolve issues, give and receive both positive and negative feedback in a respectful and professional manner.
Willing and able to regularly lift, stand, bend or other physical exertion as needed
Must be willing to use personal protective equipment.
Must be flexible to work at either the Des Plains, IL or McCook, IL facility as assigned.

Candidates should be detail oriented, have good communication skills, and be able to follow written and oral instructions to accomplish multiple tasks safely.
