Talascend is seeking a Robotics Field Service Engineer for a direct hire position based out of a Holliston, MA service center with a well-established automation company.

OVERVIEW:
The purpose of the Service Engineer is to provide excellent customer support to manufacturing clients needing on-site equipment programming, maintenance, troubleshooting or repair of robotic or related machinery/equipment. As a member of the Service Engineering Group, you are part of a great team supporting long-standing clients’ automation equipment needs at the end-user facilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Service Engineer travels to a customer site on a moment’s notice and remains onsite for the duration of time required to perform the troubleshooting and repair functions.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Discuss, diagnosis, and repair robot operational and process problems as reported by the customer.
Perform warranty service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain robots and controllers, electrical control devices, and peripheral equipment.
Document equipment performance, failure modes and issue daily reports to Supervisor & Dispatch to update status of progress.
Complete Field Service reports for each customer call/visit.
Coordinate responsibilities, activities, and schedule with Service Supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction, proper billing, and support collections activities.
Return of unused parts or defective parts replaced under warranty.
Between service calls, work from home office coordinating activities and responding to customers calling for assistance.
Requirements:
Ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills and education:
Associates degree in a related technical field, or equivalent technical education, or equivalent relevant experience.
Previous experience with common robot applications (spot welding, arc welding or material handling).
Fanuc robot experience is a plus!
Minimum of three years of experience working in an automation/manufacturing environment.
Minimum three years' experience in robotics integration, installation, or service.
Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting, teardown, and repair experience.
Expert in reading and interpreting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic prints and related technical documentation.
Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic.
Problem solving ability, identify causes and offer other potential solutions.
Must be organized and able to manage multiple tasks at one time.
Strong Interpersonal skills with emphasis on satisfying the Customer.
Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
Willing to work overtime when required in response to customer requirements.
Domestic travel assignments; 50-80 % travel is required. Must be able to travel on short notice.
Previous experience with any robot application software and programming on RJ3iB, R30iA, and R30iB control platforms is highly preferred.
