A Talascend client is seeking an Electrical & Automation Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity in Salem Ohio. This is a Hybrid role with an exceptional benefit package to include: low-cost medical coverage, 401-K match up to 6%, wellness incentive program, up to 25% annual bonus and much more!

Schedule:
Hybrid, 9/80 schedule.
Work from home on Mondays and Friday.
Tuesday-Thursday is onsite in Salem.
Workdays are 9 � hour days Monday-Thursday, and they are off every other Friday.
Core hours are 9AM-3PM, you are able to adjust your schedule earlier or later based on their preference, as long as they are working during core hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the engineering and execution of control systems for continuous galvanizing/annealing lines, roller hearth or heat treat furnaces
Supervise and coordinate with system integrators, vendors, and internal teams to meet
project goals
Support P&ID development and maintain comprehensive documentation including
motor lists, component lists, I/O lists, logic drawings, and functional descriptions
Collaborate with Process Engineering for valve, actuator, sensor selection for process
systems
Select and integrate Safety PLCs and Safety I/O while implementing combustion and
safety interlocks, ensuring full compliance with burner/combustion safety standards
such as NFPA 86.
Design, implement, and tune PID control loops for temperature, pressure, flow, and
atmosphere control
Verify and check detailed electrical schematics and panels
Ability to review and redline drawings for electrical standards and best practices:
according to company standards and NFPA 79, UL508A, NEC
Utilize AutoCAD Electrical to design schematics and panel layouts, and specify MCCs,
VFD panels, remote I/O enclosures, and low-voltage power distribution systems,
including wire sizing, breaker coordination, and SCCR ratings. Prepare installation
documentation including manuals, to/from lists and interconnection drawings
Design and support SCR-based electrical heating systems and understand 3-phase
heating configurations (Wye, Delta)
Develop purchase specifications, evaluate vendor proposals, and perform technical
assessments to select the most suitable solution for the application
Lead and support in-house testing, field commissioning, and system troubleshooting
Perform site studies, attend sales meetings, and provide both remote and on-site
support to customers

Technical Skills & Tools
Deep understanding of process control, including
NFPA 86 Burner management & Class C Special Atmosphere Furnaces
Combustion Systems
PID tuning
Hydrogen/Nitrogen atmosphere systems
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance
Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, electrical schematic development, and panel design
Strong knowledge of PLC & HMI platforms:
Allen-Bradley (RSLogix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk ME/SE)
Siemens (TIA Portal, WinCC)
Experience with Safety PLCs, safety I/O, and safety-rated devices
Familiarity with electrical standards and practices: NFPA 86, NFPA 79, UL508A, NEC

EDUCATION:
Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

ADDITIONAL
Travel: Up to 25% (site commissioning, studies, training, sales meetings)
Experience: Minimum 5 years, preferred 8-10 years
