Job Description

As a Solderer Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling electronic components, including complex and high-density projects, while adhering to assembly books, custom specifications, and quality standards. Your role will involve hand soldering and reworking thru-hole, SMT, mixed, and mechanical assemblies according to engineering specifications and IPC standards. You will also prepare, place, and install components accurately, operate and maintain various assembly and testing equipment, and set up, calibrate, and maintain test stations. Testing product functionality using tools such as multimeters and PC-based programming, finalizing assembly, and preparing products for packing and shipping are also key aspects of this role.

Work Environment

This large facility features multiple departments within the production floor and is organized, clean, and quiet. Employees may occasionally be exposed to dust, solder, metals, high noise levels from operating machinery, or physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. The culture emphasizes teamwork with a positive attitude and offers cross-training opportunities across departments to support skill development. The environment can be louder during morning shifts and quieter in the afternoon. You will be part of a team of 50, with a dress code that includes wearing a smock, shoe covers, ear plugs, goggles, and closed-toe shoes. The shift is Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime available during busy periods.

Responsibilities
* Assemble electronic components following assembly books and custom specifications.
* Perform hand soldering and rework on various assemblies as per engineering specs and IPC standards.
* Prepare, place, and accurately install components.
* Operate and maintain assembly and testing equipment.
* Set up, calibrate, and maintain test stations; complete test logs and report yields.
* Test product functionality using tools like multimeters and PC-based programming.
* Finalize assembly and prepare products for packing and shipping.
* Participate in training and certification programs to maintain skills.
* Support team-level quality initiatives, including root cause analysis.
* Communicate effectively with team members to resolve and prevent issues.

Essential Skills
* 6 months to 1 year of hand soldering experience.
* Proficient with hand tools such as screwdrivers and torque tools.
* Experience in reworking mechanical/electrical assemblies.
* Ability to read and understand assembly documentation in English.
* Good computer skills.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a non-repetitive basis.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Familiarity with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) is a plus.
* Flexible and eager to learn.
* Good team player with a positive attitude.
