PCI provides Calibration, Commissioning & Consulting solutions to our clients across multiple regulated industries including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, food & beverage and more. We are seeking a Senior Consultant to add to our growing company. The Senior Consultant reports directly to the Team Leader, Manager, or Director of the Consulting Team, depending on the organizational structure. These positions are exempt. Up to 100% percent travel may be required.


The Senior Consultant plays a pivotal role in the organization by providing strategic client project initiatives, client proposal development and project oversight through specific, accurate, and detailed client proposals; realistic and profitable project timelines; along with budget and labor utilization awareness. PCI Consultants also play a vital business development role in which their thorough understanding of client processes results in additional client solutions being provided by other PCI service Teams. Through networking, extensive communication, and an awareness of ongoing client activities, Consultants are expected to develop, grow, and expand business partner relationships with clients with an awareness of when client needs might change, expand, or develop into other PCI service arenas.

The PCI Senior Consultant is an exempt position reporting to a Senior Level Manager, Director, or Vice President, depending upon organizational structure. Extensive travel is required.

The Senior Consultant will also be a recognized and proven Subject Matter Expert with a proven track record and history of either publishing technical articles, whitepapers or other such documents; sharing technical expertise/knowledge through professional training; and/or be a respected leader/ authority figure in a related professional organization.


PCI Consultants are well respected Subject Matter Experts and called upon in the industry for their vast knowledge of key components and ability to share that knowledge in a professional way. PCI Consultants also develop a true business partnership with all clients across various Life Science fields. Consultants work closely with clients to research, identify, and provide effective long-term client solutions. They consistently uphold PCI Values and demonstrate Honesty, Integrity, Pride, Accountability, Teamwork, and Commitment.

Senior Consultants lead teams (internal and at client sites) with both PCI and non PCI team members. They are accountable for overall project initiation, inception, design, development, implementation, management, follow up, and maintenance.

The expectations of a Consultant falls under three main categories:

1. Business Partner with Clients

2. Manage and Lead Projects

3. Manage Risk and Profitability


Consultants provide implementation and management of on-site Instrument Management Service contracts, as well as initiating, researching, and providing project acquisition and development, initiation and turnover for new and existing PCI clients. Consultants will also manage PCI project teams, performing, supervising, and providing technical expertise with calibrations, instrument procurement, management of third party services, resource scheduling, account management and maintaining PCI client/project files in accordance with company procedures.

Some of the Senior Consultant responsibilities:

Initiate consultative business development to include new, as well as expand existing client services.
Develop and deliver clear, high-valued, results-driven client service plans.
Develop scope and deliver consultative and technical service proposals.
Setup and manage new projects including fixed price instruments and service, resource schedules, change control and budget forecasts.
Facilitate prospective client meetings and address issues/concerns related to projects.
Protocol and SOP development in both cGMP and cGLP environments.
Provide technical support through qualification, calibration, maintenance and repair services.
Provide team technical training and mentoring of associates.
Provide presentations at regional professional organization events such as ISPE, PDA, ASQ, ISA, etc.
Extended involvement in professional organizations.
System software consultations, such as Calibration Manager, Maximo, SAP, or other CMMS.

Skills Required:

Senior Consultant

Be considered a Subject Matter Expert in the fields of Calibration and Instrumentation within the Process and/or Analytical service fields and a technical advisor in various other Life Science Industries.
As an industry expert, be known and called upon as a valued and respected technical resource, be able to provide high level training both internally as well as externally to PCI, and at times, speak at engagements with other industry experts.
Be a technical leader with a relevant professional organization (ie: ISPE, ASQ, PDA, etc).
Senior Consultants must be able to continually expand client relations, develop additional service scopes, and deliver successful client solutions through PCI services.

Experience & Education Required:

A four-year degree in Life Sciences, or other related technical field and ten or more years of instrumentation experience in the Life Sciences industry. A proven track record of project and people management is required.

Experience and success in initiating, developing, leading, and expanding client relations.
Ability to 'close the deal' and bring in prospective leads to project fruition.
Proven history of high level project oversight and program management successes.
Exceptional technical knowledge and skill with calibration accuracy testing requirements in manufacturing and laboratory environments.
Extensive experience with Calibration Management and Maintenance Management software.
Effective working knowledge and use of MS Office Suite.
