SHINE is immediately seeking a Nuclear Systems Manager, reporting directly to the VP Engineering, with a strong background and driven personality to manage the design and analysis of nuclear systems for Mo-99 production.
The Nuclear Systems Manager will be responsible for managing the design of the subcritical aqueous fission assembly, hydrogen recombination system in a high-radiation environment, cooling systems, shielding design, and prototype facilities. Nuclear experience is required (e.g., nuclear power reactors, research reactors, fuel cycle facilities), with an emphasis on design engineering experience. NRC experience is required to help instill proper nuclear culture into the design of SSCs and to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operations of nuclear systems required for the production and processing of medical isotopes and fissile solutions.
SHINE is seeking candidates with at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and/or Chemical Engineering. Previous supervisory experience (may be limited) is required as well as good personnel skills and good project management skills (e.g., planning out work, scheduling, budgeting).
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls regulations (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Asylee, or Refugee). Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug test, fingerprinting, and a criminal background check.
