SHINE is immediately seeking a Process Systems Manager, reporting directly to the VP Engineering, with a strong background and driven personality to manage the mechanical and chemical process systems for Mo-99 production.

The Process Systems Manager will be responsible for managing the chemical extraction of medical isotopes from radioactive solutions, purification of medical isotopes through small-scale glassware processes, hot cell layouts and functionality, uranium solution preparation, adsorption and ion exchange processes on process fluids, and safe and efficient radioactive waste solidification and grouting. Experience with radioactive liquid system design is required, and NRC experience is preferred. Experience with HAZOPS, PHA or Integrated Safety Analyses (ISAs) is a benefit.

SHINE is seeking candidates with at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and/or Nuclear Engineering. Some supervisory or team leader experience is required as well as good personnel skills and good project management skills (e.g., planning out work, scheduling, budgeting).

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls regulations (U.S. Citizen or National, U.S. Permanent Resident, Asylee, or Refugee). Additionally, applicants’ eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug test, fingerprinting, and a criminal background check.
