RCS has a direct hire opportunity for an BWR/VIP Engineer SME with Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI) from one of their offices in the US. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with plant personnel on a variety of issues for BWR plants. A knowledge of BWRVIP guidance documents is a must. The BWR/VIP Engineer SME should also have a broad understanding of BWR systems and be familiar with proper remediation tactics. A competitive compensation and relocation assistance is available. A key attribute for this position is the ability to work with our clients and develop into a trusted advisor role. In addition, the ability to work with and bring together several experts on a team with the sole focus on helping our client to arrive at an "optimum solution".

Primary Responsibilities:
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME is familiar with EPRI, NRC, INPO, NEI and other agencies is preferred.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME interfaces with Nuclear Utility Clients with a primary focus on BWRVIP program managers as well as EPRI BWR Program Owners.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME provides practical knowledge and experience with BWR nuclear plant designs, materials of construction, BWR plant operations and BWR programs, to assist utilities with their site-specific plant operations and emergent issues.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME develops innovative approaches to solving BWR plant issues by gaining industry support.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME mentors others within the organization to help foster a deeper knowledge and understanding of BWR plants and the associated operating conditions and issues facing our clients.
Travel 25%-35% of the year.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME possesses a BS in Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering or similar discipline.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME possesses 10 plus years of related engineering experience in the capacity of BWRVIP Program owner or industry expert with strong experience in BWR Plants.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME possesses an advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME possesses a proficiency with Microsoft office applications, including Word® and Excel®.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME possesses the ability to grasp and tackle complex assignments.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME possesses good oral and written communication skills - Confidence in delivering presentations.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME possesses strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME must be a self-starter, able to think independently, and budget time among multiple tasks
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME works well in a team environment of technical experts and ability to work with all levels of staff and management
The BWR/VIP Engineer SME must be willing to learn skills outside of major specialty
Graduate level Engineering degree.

In direct correlation to the current job opening, SI has specialized expertise in managing BWR vessel internals, reactor vessels, reactor coolant systems and other BWR systems and can support utilities in implementing various aspects of the BWRVIP’s Inspection and Evaluation Guidelines, including proactive analysis, outage preparation, and repair/replacement reviews. As structural margins decrease with aging, more sophisticated analysis methods may become necessary to reduce conservatism and to gain margins, and we utilize advanced linear-elastic and elastic-plastic fracture mechanics methods to evaluate internals degradation.
