Performance Improvement Coordinator needed for a Direct Hire position in South Texas.

Summary

The position plans, performs, and integrates performance summary and excellence plan status reports and supports the Operations Department in implementing continuous improvement processes (corrective action, self-assessment, benchmarking, operating experience and trending). The Performance Excellence Coordinator-Operations is a rotational/developmental assignment typically from Plant Operations Department or other roles where the incumbent holds or formerly held an NRC Senior Reactor Operator {SRO) license (preferred) or SRO Certification.

Education
Associate's degree in Science or Technical discipline and three years' experience in Operations as a Shift Manager or Unit Supervisor, or
BS in Technical Science Discipline/Engineering (preferred) or
Five years' experience in Operations as a Shift Manager or a Unit Supervisor

Experience
Two years Operations experience as Shift Manager or Unit Supervisor (preferred), Or
Former SRO License or SRO Cert combined with ANSI qualified Auditor (STP Certification 226 or equivalent) experience.

License/Certification
Qualified or formerly qualified as Shift Manager or Unit Supervisor (SRO License) (Preferred) Or
SRO Certification combined with ANSI N45.2 Quality Auditor Experience
Essential Responsibilities Quality Oversight
Selects areas for quality oversight, develops quality oversight plans/checklists, and evaluates oversight
activity results.
Prepares quality oversight activity related correspondence.
Participates in pre-oversight and post-oversight conferences.
Interviews personnel during quality oversight activities.
Observes activities review documentation and evaluates and documents activity results.

Initiates deficiency documentation and evaluates responses to deficiency documents and recommendations.
Verifies adequacy of corrective actions and prepares oversight activity reports.

Performance Monitoring
Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g.,reports, presentations, department meetings).
Monitors work group reports and recommendations to assure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.
Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.
Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.
Maintains composure in high stress or adverse situations

Other Responsibilities
Accept ERO position as needed.
Accept outage position as needed.
Performs Observations and analyzes data such as corrective
action trends, performance indicators, benchmarking, and self-assessment results.
Monitor Operations Department's CAP use. Recommend timeline to close open items.
Formulates performance insights and recommendations to line managers.
Ensures Condition Reports document identified performance gaps and focus areas referenced in Department Excellence Plans.
Coordinate and chair meetings with departments, management and executive personnel.
Supports site programs (e.g., Emergency Response, Industrial Safety, Housekeeping, etc.) as assigned or appropriate
Participates in industry conferences/forums as appropriate

Knowledge of Company processes and procedures
Firm understanding of STP Goals and long-term plans.
Superior communications skills. Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to understand and apply detailed technical concepts, standards, procedures, and methodologies.
Ability to be objective, make decisions, take constructive criticism, listen, and ask questions.
Ability to be effective in working as a team player with the other personnel in meeting station standards and goals.

Working Conditions
Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.

Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
Work, at times, involves dealing with people in a strained situation.
Travel may be required.
Normal office environment with visits to the plant.
