[Environmental Engineer] Nuclear Plant Needs Environmental Qualification Engineer!

One of our clients, a commercial nuclear power utility, has an urgent need for a Nuclear Environmental Qualification Engineer. This is a permanent in-house position with a prestigious Fortune 500 energy producer with operations in over 2 dozen states. This company has won multiple awards for its excellent work culture and was listed as “One of the Best Nuclear Utilities to Work For in the Country” and “One of the Very Best Companies to Work for in the USA”! This opportunity is in a rural, resort area featuring fishing, hiking, boating and other outdoor activities, but is just minutes from a variety of metropolitan areas accompanied by big city amenities. Our client has an excellent compensation package including a generous base salary, annual performance bonus, relocation package and more!

As a Nuclear Environmental Qualification Engineer you will support the evaluation and qualification of components and equipment important to safety at a nuclear power plant. You will support the Environmental Qualification (EQ) Program implementation and tracking of components and changes made to ensure that the plants original design basis is guaranteed. You will ensure any equipment or component changes are compatible for its installed environment and will function properly during and after experiencing the conditions it is expected to encounter. You will analyze the effects of temperature, pressure, humidity, seismic, radiation, aging and chemical effects on a wide variety of safety related equipment.

The qualified candidate for Nuclear Environmental Qualification Engineer MUST have:

* Two (2)+ years experience evaluating the impacts on components in a variety of environmental conditions is required.

* Knowledge of 10CFR50.49 “Environmental Qualification of Electric Equipment Important to Safety for Nuclear Power Plants” a plus.

* Experience working in Engineering at an Electric Utility (or similar type industry) desired.

* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

* Excellent references.
