RFQ Number 375497/375500 Field Procurement Engineering Specialist
US Citizenship Required: Yes
Procurement of goods and services for the SRS Operating, Project and Support Divisions to support Site missions.
Assist in the development of technical and quality requirements necessary for installation of parts and materials into safety and safety-related systems, structures and components.
Interpretation of a multitude of requirements ranging from federal regulations to site wide procedures and policies to provide effective guidance and service in the procurement process.
Provide support at the field level for the procurement of goods and / or services for the area or division assigned.
Act as a liaison between the field and the procurement organization. Execute and manage procurement life cycle: Planning, scheduling, product research, solicit quotes, acquisition of material and services, expediting and delivery of purchase orders.
Negotiate prices and delivery times with potential suppliers to ensure the best value for goods and services needed for site customers utilizing the best method of acquisition; micro-purchase order; P-Card; basic purchase order with strategic agreements, SAP (Simplified Acquisition Procedures) and site availability.
Prepare solicitation documents and process request for quotations.
Evaluate quotations to verify compliance with requirements of the solicitation and perform price analysis to ensure pricing is fair and reasonable.
Review requisitions and related documents for completeness and accuracy based on established procedures and technical knowledge to establish the best path forward.
The ability to communicate adequately on a one-on-one basis and in a group setting to present information and express ideas to others is needed, along with a strong interpersonal skills which aid to bolster customer interaction.
Education Qualification Required
Bachelor’s degree; OR Associate’s Degree and with two years of procurement or related experience; OR High School diploma and four years of procurement or related experience.
Experience/Skills Qualification Required
Candidate must demonstrate ten years of design authority experience in the WSB and Tritium process and possess a working knowledge of NEC, IES, NFPA, IEEE, ETAP, and OSHA requirements. Experience with Smartplant, 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is required. Candidate must have experience using software (preferably ETAP) to generate electrical system calculations. Candidate must be able to walk down systems in the field.
Previous SRS Electrical Design Authority Engineering experience is preferred.
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Workweek excludes SRNS holidays. SRNS Management will determine best schedule depending on work needs. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch.
Area Security Access:
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance
