Ensures compliance with Department of Energy (DOE) and Laboratory requirements regarding the marking, handling, storage, transmission, and disposition of electronic and hard copy unclassified and/or classified documents/materials. Specific duties may include coordinating appropriate classification of documents/materials, maintaining a controlled supply of unclassified and/or classified documents/materials to assure compliance, advising employees on the proper handling of documents/materials, and assuring the proper transmission and/or disposition of documents/materials as dictated by DOE and Laboratory policies and procedures.

Developing professional expertise, applies Laboratory policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Can use and apply standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques as recognized within a profession or administrative specialty. Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems of moderately complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Contributes to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives. Continually supervised and follows established directions. Receives detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Work is reviewed for accuracy, soundness of judgment and overall adequacy. Work is reviewed while in progress. Uses judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action.

Job Duties
&#61607; Maintains a controlled distribution of electronic and hard copy unclassified and/or classified documents, including the tracking and monitoring of all security measures associated with proper handling and storage.
&#61607; Reviews documents to determine appropriate distribution and disposition processes as outlined in established policies and procedures.
&#61607; Advises appropriate employees and management on the proper handling of controlled and/or classified matter.
&#61607; Assures proper disposition of unclassified and/or classified documents/materials.
&#61607; Assists in internal and external unclassified and/or classified inventories and audits.
&#61607; Adheres to policies and programs concerning document controls.
&#61607; Researches, assembles, and/or evaluates information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes affecting document control policies or programs; recommends sound, practical solutions to complex issues.
&#61607; Fosters a mutually respectful work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
Job Knowledge
&#61607; Thorough knowledge of the Laboratory's electronic and hard copy document control policies, practices, and procedures.
&#61607; Thorough knowledge of requirements affecting document control and classified materials administration.
&#61607; Experience and demonstrated skill identifying proper disposition of documents, data, materials, etc.
&#61607; Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research and recommending solutions to problems.
&#61607; Experience in implementing detailed supervisory instructions to perform major elements of document control and related programs/policies.
&#61607; Demonstrated ability in the delivery of clear and concise communication to employees and managers.

&#61607; Position typically requires a minimum of two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
