PMQS is currently looking for an experienced full-time Mechanical Engineer to work at the Pantex Plant near Amarillo, TX

JOB DUTIES
Act as the technical authority over assigned mechanical equipment or facility systems. The
engineer will provide engineering support to maintenance, manufacturing and safety
organizations as it relates to assigned systems. The engineer will determine system
requirements, define system operability, and manage change through a configuration
management change control process. The engineer shall provide technical analyses and
calculations as needed to support equipment or system operations.
The engineer primarily performs work requiring advanced knowledge. The advanced knowledge must be in a field of science or learning; and the advanced knowledge must be customarily acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction. Advanced knowledge is generally used to analyze, interpret and make deductions from varying facts or circumstances.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
The position requires knowledge of mechanical systems with a preferred knowledge in one of
the following; manufacturing process equipment, industrial mechanical equipment or facility
related mechanical systems. The engineer shall have the skills necessary to provide
assistance in equipment troubleshooting, critical spare identification, defining system
requirements and developing design criteria for assigned equipment. The position requires the
ability to perform technical analyses, calculations, and equipment component evaluations to
support assigned equipment and departmental responsibilities. The engineer shall have the
ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions; ability to communicate clearly and
effectively through the oral and written word.
The engineer should also have the ability to evaluate and provide feedback on new and proposed revisions to technical operating procedures, design drawings, design requirements, and facility systems, structures, and components. Ability to perform technical evaluations of processes and provide well-written, technical feedback. Ability to act as the technical lead on a weaponsprogram in regards to nuclear explosive safety. Ability to make informed decisions and support those decisions to your peers and senior management. Understanding and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
The specific job level will be determined based upon relevant education and experience of the
selected candidate, per the following criteria:
Entry-Level Engineer (Associate – Senior Associate)
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, combined with 0-2 years of related experience in
job description listed above.
Mid-Level Engineer (Specialist – Senior Specialist)
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and/or holds a Texas Professional Engineering
License (PE), combined with 4-7 years of related experience in the job description listed above.
Senior-Level Engineer (Senior Specialist – Advisor)
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and/or holds a Texas Professional Engineering
License (PE), combined with at least 7-12 years of related experience in the job description listed above.
